A 53-year-old motorcyclist from Columbia died after a single-vehicle crash on Highway 132 (Yosemite Boulevard) at Crabtree Road, in the Roberts Ferry area of Stanislaus County, on Saturday afternoon, October 10, 2026. The California Highway Patrol received the call at about 2:25 p.m. The rider was reportedly thrown from a Harley-Davidson and was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.
According to the Modesto Bee, the CHP said the rider was eastbound on Highway 132 approaching Crabtree Road when the motorcycle left the roadway, landed on its side and struck a metal fence. The CHP’s preliminary finding was that he was allegedly driving at an unsafe speed to safely negotiate the right-hand curve. Traffic was reportedly controlled one-way for roughly two hours and 20 minutes during the investigation, and the findings remain preliminary.
