A single-vehicle rollover crash on northbound Highway 101 in Redwood City, California, left a young girl injured and missing early Monday, September 21, 2026. The crash happened around 10:38 p.m. Sunday night on the freeway north of Woodside Road. A witness told police they saw a girl believed to be four or five years old, with blond or brown hair and wearing a pink jacket, bleeding from the head near the crash scene. When officers arrived, they could not locate her, and a person reportedly fled the area on foot. The California Highway Patrol and Redwood City Police Department launched an active search and asked the public for help finding the child.
According to the Redwood City Pulse, the California Highway Patrol is investigating the rollover and has not confirmed how the girl came to be separated from the vehicle or who fled the scene on foot. Redwood City police said they responded to assist CHP in searching the area but had not located the child as of the department’s latest alert. KRON4 reported that authorities described the child as possibly suffering head or arm injuries and asked anyone who spots a girl matching her description, or who has information, to call 911 immediately. No arrests or additional details about the driver had been released as the investigation continued.
