12-year-old among several injured in a head-on crash in Sacramento County
California Vehicle Code 21650 requires drivers to stay on the right half of the roadway, with limited exceptions. A driver who crosses into oncoming lanes and causes a head-on collision may be found to have violated this rule. Such a violation can be strong evidence of negligence in a civil injury claim.
California Vehicle Code 21460 restricts crossing double yellow lines, which mark where passing is unsafe. Separately, California’s Code of Civil Procedure 335.1 generally gives injured people two years to file a personal injury lawsuit, and different rules can apply to minors. Deadlines vary by case, so injured families should get advice early.
