A tractor-trailer overturned into the desert along State Route 18 in Phelan on the morning of Monday, October 12, 2026. The crash was reported at about 8:35 a.m. near Mandana Road, east of Wilson Ranch Road. A female passenger was reportedly trapped inside the truck and had to be extricated by firefighters. She was flown by helicopter to a hospital, and her condition has not been released.
According to Victor Valley News Group (VVNG), San Bernardino County Fire performed the extrication and a REACH helicopter flew the woman to Antelope Valley Hospital. VVNG reports the male driver stayed at the scene and was not hurt, and that a black Dodge Charger was also involved, with no injuries reported to its occupants. The cause is still unknown, and the California Highway Patrol’s Victorville Area office is investigating. A second outlet, Hoodline, reports it is unclear how the Charger factored into the sequence of events.
