A driver was trapped inside an overturned car and had to be airlifted to a hospital after a three-vehicle crash on Wilson Ranch Road near Avenal Street in Phelan on Friday evening. The collision was reported at approximately 7:44 p.m. on September 18, 2026, and involved a sedan that flipped onto its roof. San Bernardino County Fire crews responded and worked to extricate the trapped driver, a man believed to be in his mid-40s who suffered a head laceration and significant bleeding. A Mercy Air helicopter landed near the scene and flew the injured driver to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
