A car crashed into a home just north of Oakdale on Saturday morning, September 19, 2026, after the vehicle left Highway 120 — also known as Lon Dale Road — for reasons that remain unclear. The sedan reportedly traveled about 120 feet off the roadway, through a fence and across a private driveway, before slamming into the house and coming to rest halfway inside the structure. The driver and two people who were inside the home at the time were all injured and taken to local hospitals by ambulance. Firefighters had to extricate one person who was trapped, while crews initially treated the scene as a possible mass-casualty incident before confirming three patients.
According to the Modesto Bee, Modesto Fire Department crews received the call just after 9:20 a.m. and sent three fire chiefs, two engines, two ladder trucks and a rescue rig to the scene. The newspaper reported that the California Highway Patrol is investigating why the westbound sedan left the roadway. The crash was one of three separate injury collisions reported across Stanislaus County that Saturday, including two pedestrians struck in Modesto, the Modesto Bee said.
