Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on McKinley Avenue in Fresno

A pedestrian believed to be in his late 70s or early 80s was killed Sunday night, September 13, 2026, when he was struck by a vehicle while crossing McKinley Avenue near Normal Avenue and First Street in central Fresno. Fresno police responded around 8:30 p.m. and found the man lying in the roadway; he was pronounced dead at the scene. The man was reportedly crossing the street from south to northwest when a driver struck him and then fled without stopping. Officers blocked off streets around the intersection as they searched for surveillance video and witnesses who could help identify the vehicle, described only as a sedan.
