Two teenage best friends were killed in a fiery three-vehicle crash at Ridgecrest Road and Elmwood Drive in Victorville, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash was reported at about 8:34 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 14, when a yellow Chevrolet Camaro and a black Dodge Charger were traveling northbound on Ridgecrest Road at a high rate of speed and an Acura pulled out from Elmwood Drive attempting to make a left turn in front of them, CHP said.
Updated August 25, 2026: The San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office has now officially identified the second teenager killed as Isabell Hill, a 16-year-old resident of Hesperia, in coroner case 702605549 — the same case that previously listed her name as withheld pending positive identification. The coroner’s office states that Hill was a passenger and was pronounced dead at the scene, confirming the name reported earlier by KTLA and Victor Valley News. Victor Valley News reported that the California Highway Patrol’s search for Terry Lamar Easter, his mother Madge Wells and associate Ryan James Lewis remains active.
Updated August 24, 2026: The California Highway Patrol has identified 50-year-old Terry Lamar Easter, also known as “Capone,” as wanted in connection with the crash and has issued a $1 million warrant for his arrest, describing him as armed and dangerous, according to Victor Valley News. Easter allegedly fled the scene, leaving his 11-year-old son inside the vehicle. CHP is also searching for Easter’s mother, Madge Wells, 74, on a $50,000 warrant, and an associate, Ryan James Lewis, 45, on a $30,000 warrant, both as suspected accessories after the crash. Updated August 18, 2026: The California Highway Patrol said the driver of the Chevrolet Camaro that left the scene — leaving a child behind at the crash site — remained at large as of Monday, and the families of the two teenagers killed have spoken publicly while Sultana High School postponed senior activities, according to KTLA and NBC4 Los Angeles.
As reported by KTLA, the victims were identified by their families as Maddalyn Dailey and Isabell Hill, both seniors at Sultana High School; the force of the collision split the Acura in half. According to Victor Valley News, the Camaro caught fire and a third person was hospitalized in critical condition. CHP said the driver of the Dodge was arrested on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter, while the other driver fled the scene — allegedly leaving his child behind — and had not been located as of Monday. Investigators said the drivers of the Camaro and Dodge are believed to know each other; several neighbors told KTLA they believe the cars were racing, but authorities have not confirmed that.
