A pedestrian was killed along the westbound 10 Freeway in Redlands in what the California Highway Patrol is investigating as a hit-and-run collision. Officers were notified around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 2, 2026, after a person was found lying near the right shoulder of the westbound 10 Freeway close to the Tennessee Street offramp and the westbound 210 Freeway junction. CHP said the pedestrian, a 27-year-old Redlands man, had been struck by a vehicle that left the scene. Investigators believe he may have been hit in the early morning hours, well before the body was discovered.
According to Patch, the San Bernardino County Coroner was requested to the scene around 12:30 p.m., and shortly after noon the westbound 10 Freeway was shut down at University Street while the westbound 210 Freeway was closed back to Greenspot Road in Highland, snarling traffic through the afternoon. Patch reported that CHP has no description of the suspected hit-and-run vehicle and that investigators are reviewing nearby Flock cameras in an effort to identify it.
