A driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI after a multi-vehicle crash that left a BMW in flames and an SUV overturned on the southbound 15 Freeway in Hesperia early Sunday morning, August 16, according to Victor Valley News. The California Highway Patrol responded around 2:10 a.m. to the crash just south of Joshua Street, where the BMW sedan caught fire and a gray Honda Pilot came to rest on its roof. As reported by Victor Valley News, two occupants of the Honda Pilot got out on their own, and one woman was taken by ambulance to a hospital; her condition was not released. The CHP arrested Isaac Bryant Vega, 22, on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a BAC of 0.08% or higher; he was cited and released later that day, and no conviction has been reported. Southbound I-15 was shut down for about an hour and reopened around 3:20 a.m. The crash remains under investigation by the CHP’s Victorville station.
