A 23-year-old man from Lind died on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, after his sedan collided with a tractor trailer on Road 3 Northeast, east of Moses Lake in Grant County, Washington. The crash happened around 1 p.m. near the intersection with Road U Northeast. The truck driver, a 29-year-old man from Saskatchewan, Canada, was reportedly taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The road was blocked for more than five hours.
According to NewsRadio 560 KPQ, traffic investigators say the sedan was traveling well above the posted 60 mph limit when it crested a rise with limited visibility and struck the front of the truck, and that its speed appears to have kept the driver from stopping. KPQ also reports that the Grant County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating and has not determined whether intoxicants played a role. KXLY reported that authorities had not released details on the cause in its early coverage. These findings are preliminary and may change as the investigation continues.
