A two-vehicle crash on eastbound State Highway 71 in Del Valle, Texas, left two adults hurt early Monday, October 26, 2026. The Travis County Sheriff’s Office said the collision happened sometime before 5:30 a.m. in the 5100 block of East SH 71, near Caldwell Lane. Austin-Travis County EMS reported that one of the vehicles caught fire.
According to KVUE, one person was taken to Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas with life-threatening injuries, and the other was taken to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center with serious injuries. KVUE reports that traffic was diverted to Albert Brown Road and that the highway was expected to be closed for several hours. It is unclear what led to the collision, and no additional information had been released.
