A man died in a head-on collision on East Mariposa Road near Van Allen Road in unincorporated San Joaquin County, just outside Stockton, California, on the evening of September 2, 2026. The California Highway Patrol says a pickup truck and an SUV collided head-on and came to rest in the eastbound lanes. The pickup truck’s driver was found unresponsive at the scene and was pronounced dead. Both lanes of the road were shut down for hours while CHP officers investigated and a medical examiner responded to the scene.
KCRA reported that a man was killed in the head-on crash, citing the California Highway Patrol. CHP dispatch records describe the vehicles involved as a tan pickup truck and a black SUV, both of which sustained major damage in the collision.
