A high-speed pursuit through Sacramento ended in a serious multi-vehicle crash early Friday morning, September 25, 2026, leaving one driver critically injured. Sacramento County sheriff’s deputies tried to stop a car being driven without its headlights near West El Camino Avenue and Interstate 80 around 2:12 a.m. The driver, a 15-year-old girl, allegedly fled and led deputies on a chase that ended when her vehicle slammed into two other cars at the intersection of West El Camino Avenue and El Centro Road. One of the drivers she struck was rushed to a hospital in critical condition, while a second driver was not injured.
According to Hoodline, the teen driver was also hospitalized before being medically cleared and booked into juvenile hall. CBS News Sacramento reported that the critically injured driver was later upgraded to stable condition. Neither outlet has released the teen’s name, as authorities have not publicly identified her due to her age. The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office has not disclosed why deputies initially tried to stop the vehicle or released further details about the ongoing investigation.
