A man was injured Tuesday evening in Riverside after being struck by a semi-truck while riding an electric scooter near UC Riverside. The crash happened at University Avenue and the northbound Interstate 215 on-ramp. A California Highway Patrol dispatch log, as relayed by a CHP incident feed, shows the call came in at about 7:56 p.m. on September 29, 2026.
Facebook reported that the man was hurt when the semi-truck struck him on the on-ramp. The CHP log feed lists the incident as a hit-and-run with injuries and allegedly quotes a caller saying the big rig ran the rider over and did not stop. The log describes the truck as pulling a gray container trailer with blue lettering and heading north on I-215, and says the injured person was still down in the on-ramp lanes minutes later.
