A woman was left with life-threatening injuries Friday night after she was struck by an SUV near the intersection of Clinton and Brawley avenues in northwest Fresno, California. The collision happened around 9:30 p.m. as the woman was crossing the street outside a marked crosswalk. Emergency crews performed life-saving measures at the scene before rushing her to Community Regional Medical Center. Fresno police closed the intersection for several hours while investigators worked the scene.
According to the Fresno Bee, the SUV involved in the crash was traveling at approximately 35 mph, reportedly under the posted speed limit, when it struck the woman. Police have not released the victim’s identity and, as of this reporting, had not determined whether speed, visibility, or impairment were contributing factors.
