An 18-year-old motorcyclist was killed early Saturday, September 26, 2026, in a crash on westbound Interstate 20 near Bowman Springs Road in Arlington, Texas. Police say the motorcycle rear-ended a Honda Civic at a high rate of speed, throwing the rider from the bike and onto the highway shoulder. The rider, later identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office as Landon Corbia Murphy, was taken to a hospital, where he died of his injuries. The impact also pushed the Civic into nearby construction barriers, and its driver was hospitalized with injuries not believed to be life-threatening. The crash remains under investigation by the Arlington Police Department.
According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, officers were dispatched to the scene around 1:01 a.m. and found Murphy lying on the shoulder of the highway before he was rushed to a hospital. The outlet reported that investigators believe speed was a factor in the crash, which happened inside an active construction zone along the Southeast Connector project. FOX 4 News, citing the Arlington Police Department, similarly reported that the motorcycle struck the rear of the Civic at a high rate of speed. No further details, including whether the rider was wearing a helmet, have been released as the investigation continues.
