A 72-year-old man riding a bicycle was struck and killed by a driver at the intersection of McFadden Avenue and Fairview Street in Santa Ana on Friday evening, September 4, 2026. Santa Ana police officers working near the intersection witnessed the collision, which happened just before 7 p.m. as the man rode west on McFadden Avenue and was rear-ended by a vehicle traveling in the same direction. Officers immediately began life-saving efforts, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been publicly released.
According to KTLA, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, and police said there were no signs of impairment; no arrest or citation had been reported as of the outlet’s report.
