A driver was killed Saturday night, August 22, 2026, when a pickup truck collided with a semi-truck on West Mount Houston Road near Highway 249 in northwest Harris County. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 2600 block of West Mount Houston Road just after 8 p.m. and shut the roadway down in both directions while crews worked the scene. The pickup driver was pronounced dead; authorities have not released the driver’s name or said whether the semi-truck driver was injured. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
According to KPRC 2 (Click2Houston), which first reported the crash, deputies closed West Mount Houston Road in both directions between Highway 249 and Veterans Memorial Drive as investigators worked to determine what led to the collision.
