One person was killed and three others were hurt Tuesday evening in a crash involving a dump truck and three passenger vehicles at Chandler Road and County Road 119 in Round Rock, according to the Round Rock Police Department. Officers responded to the intersection on Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2026, and found one person who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Updated August 21, 2026: The person killed has been identified as 80-year-old Robert Busby, according to KXAN, which cited a Round Rock Police Department post. KXAN reported that the crash happened at about 5:15 p.m. and that the three other people involved suffered minor, non-life-threatening injuries. No arrest, citation or charge has been reported, and the cause of the collision remains under investigation.
As reported by FOX 7 Austin, police said the three other people involved suffered injuries described as non-life-threatening. KVUE reported that Chandler Road was closed in both directions and County Road 119 was closed between County Road 118 and Chandler Road while officers worked the scene; police said all roadways reopened at about 8 p.m. The identity of the person who died has not been released, and authorities have not said what caused the collision. No arrest, citation or charge has been reported. Round Rock police are asking anyone who saw the crash to contact the department.
