Nine people were taken to Napa County hospitals after a head-on collision on Highway 29 just north of St. Helena on Saturday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol. Investigators say a southbound Lucid Gravity crossed the center line and struck a northbound Jeep Grand Cherokee. The injuries were described as moderate to major.
The San Francisco Chronicle reports that the Lucid driver and two passengers, along with the Jeep driver and five passengers, were hospitalized. After being medically cleared, the Lucid driver was allegedly found to be under the influence of alcohol and was booked into the Napa County jail on suspicion of felony DUI, the CHP said. The Santa Rosa Press Democrat separately reported that the crash is under CHP investigation. A suspicion of DUI is not a conviction, and the investigation is ongoing.

9 injured, driver arrested in head-on DUI crash in North Bay, CHP says
California Vehicle Code section 21650 requires vehicles to be driven on the right half of the roadway. A driver who crosses the center line into oncoming traffic may be found to have violated this rule, which can be strong evidence of fault in a head-on collision.
Vehicle Code section 23152 makes it unlawful to drive under the influence of alcohol or with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08% or higher. Injured people may have civil claims against an impaired driver, and our firm works on a no fee unless we win basis.
