A female pedestrian died Friday evening after being struck by a pickup truck on State Route 18 in Lucerne Valley. The crash occurred in the eastbound lanes near Christenson Road, prompting a response from the California Highway Patrol. She was transported to a nearby hospital, where she later died from her injuries. The driver of the truck remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. The CHP is continuing to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
According to VVNG, the crash was reported at about 6:28 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 18, 2026, when a caller told dispatchers the woman had run into the roadway and was struck by a tan Ford F-150. VVNG reported that she was found lying in the roadway and unresponsive before being taken to St. Mary Medical Center in Apple Valley, where she was pronounced deceased at about 7:10 p.m. CHP dispatch records confirm the time, location and vehicle description. The pedestrian, believed to be a woman in her late 60s, had not been publicly identified as of Friday night, and authorities had not released her name.
