A 19-year-old motorcyclist died early Sunday, September 6, 2026, after he was ejected from his bike near the IH-35/US-281 interchange on San Antonio’s North Side, according to police. Investigators say the man was riding at a high rate of speed northbound when he struck the wall of the elevated roadway, was thrown from the motorcycle, and fell into a parking lot near the Pearl district below. He was pronounced dead at the scene. San Antonio police have not released the rider’s name, and the crash remains under investigation.

KSAT reported that, per a preliminary account from the San Antonio Police Department, the motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed before colliding with the highway wall. Hoodline additionally reported that Texas law requires motorcyclists under 21 to wear a helmet, and police have not said whether the teen was wearing one at the time of the crash. No other vehicles were reported involved, and no other injuries have been reported in connection with the crash. Investigators have not said whether speed alone, or the design of the elevated ramp, was the primary factor.
