A San Antonio woman died and two other people were injured in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of State Highway 92 and Farm-to-Market Road 1661, about eight miles east of Stamford in Jones County, Texas. The crash happened at around 6 p.m. on Wednesday, September 3, 2026, under clear skies and on dry pavement. Isolda C. Roblejo Popa, 33, was riding as a passenger in a 2025 Toyota Corolla when it was struck by a 2018 Toyota Camry traveling on SH 92. She was pronounced dead later that evening at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene. The Corolla’s driver and the Camry’s driver were also hospitalized with injuries.
According to San Angelo LIVE!, a preliminary Texas Department of Public Safety investigation found the Corolla was heading north on FM 1661 when its driver, 29-year-old Milena Sueiro Ramirez of San Antonio, allegedly failed to stop at a posted stop sign and entered the intersection. The Camry, driven by 34-year-old David Eric Rivera of Stanton, had the right of way traveling west on SH 92 and struck the Corolla. Rivera’s passenger, 24-year-old Ricky Tijerina, was also in the Camry and was not injured. None of the four occupants were wearing seat belts, according to the report, and DPS continues to investigate the crash.
