A 66-year-old truck driver from Sealy was killed and two children were hurt when a Honda sedan crossed into oncoming traffic and struck his commercial vehicle head-on on U.S. Highway 90 near FM 1952 in Fort Bend County on Tuesday morning, September 1, 2026. The Freightliner was traveling eastbound when the westbound Honda, driven by a 16-year-old girl, entered his lane, according to authorities. The truck driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while the teen driver and her 10-year-old passenger were taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. The teen later died from her injuries; the 10-year-old survived and was hospitalized. Texas DPS has not said why the Honda crossed into the eastbound lane.
According to ABC13 Houston, the Texas Department of Public Safety said the reason the Honda was traveling in the wrong lane at the time of the crash remains under investigation. The Fort Bend County Medical Examiner’s Office pronounced the truck driver dead at the scene, the outlet reported.
