A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries Thursday evening, September 3, 2026, after colliding with a vehicle at the intersection of Montana Avenue and Rutherglen Street in East El Paso, Texas, near a Whataburger restaurant. The crash was reported around 6:53 p.m., and the injured rider was rushed to a local hospital. Westbound lanes of Montana Avenue were temporarily shut down as emergency crews worked the scene. The cause of the collision remained under investigation as of early Friday morning.
According to KFOX14/CBS4, the El Paso Police Department’s Special Traffic Investigators Unit responded to the scene to determine what led to the crash. KVIA reported that the motorcyclist was hospitalized following the collision and that police had not yet released the rider’s condition. No arrests or citations had been announced as investigators continued piecing together the events leading up to the crash.
