Two people were rushed to the hospital and one person was arrested after a three-vehicle crash involving a big rig on the 14 Freeway (State Route 14) near Avenue H in Lancaster late Saturday night, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash was reported just before 11 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2026. A CHP spokesperson confirmed to KTLA that three vehicles were involved in the collision — a big rig and two cars. The CHP issued a SigAlert for the southbound lanes of SR-14 north of Avenue H, with all lanes blocked for approximately two hours while crews worked the scene.
As reported by KTLA, video from the scene showed first responders carrying a victim on a stretcher who appeared to have ended up off the side of the freeway as a result of the crash. A damaged sedan was seen at the front end of the semi and a damaged SUV at the back of it. “One party was arrested,” the CHP spokesperson said, without elaborating on their identity, which vehicle they were in, or what they were charged with. The conditions of the two hospitalized victims were not immediately known, and the cause of the crash remained under investigation Sunday morning, according to KTLA.
