A violent collision between two semi-trucks scattered piles of debris across the westbound 210 Freeway in La Crescenta on Wednesday morning and forced the closure of all westbound lanes, according to the California Highway Patrol and ABC7. The crash was reported shortly before 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2026, just east of the Pennsylvania Avenue exit.
The Crescenta Valley Weekly reported that a sedan was also involved and that one of the semi-trucks tipped over and apparently landed on the car, while cargo from one of the trucks spilled across the lanes. One person was taken to a hospital, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department; their condition was not released. The CHP kept all westbound lanes closed for more than 12 hours while crews cleared the wreckage, and ABC7 reported that the freeway fully reopened around 1 a.m. Thursday. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and no arrest or citation has been reported.
