A man died early Saturday, October 10, 2026, after he was struck by a car on 15th Avenue Northwest, just north of Northwest 51st Street in Ballard, Seattle. The driver called 911 around 4 a.m. to report that he had hit a pedestrian in the northbound lanes. Seattle Fire Department medics found the man dead in the roadway. His name and age had not been released.
According to KOMO News, citing Seattle police, a witness said the man had been acting erratically while walking on the sidewalk before he ran into the road. Police say the 54-year-old driver pulled over, called for help, stayed at the scene and cooperated, and a Drug Recognition Expert did not suspect impairment. Detectives with the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad are investigating, and these accounts remain preliminary.
