Pedestrian Struck On Houston Freeway, Officer Injured In Second Crash – onscene.tv
Texas Transportation Code Section 545.157 requires drivers approaching a stopped emergency vehicle with lights activated to move over or slow down. A driver who allegedly fails to yield to a patrol car blocking a freeway may face civil liability for injuries that result. Whether the statute applies depends on the facts of each crash.
Texas Civil Practice and Remedies Code Chapter 33 sets out proportionate responsibility. Under it, fault can be divided among the people involved, and a claimant’s recovery is barred if they are found more than 50 percent responsible. Families and injured people should have the facts reviewed carefully. Beverly Law works on a contingency basis: no fee unless we win.
