One person died and another was injured Friday afternoon after a box truck and another vehicle collided at a busy Temple, Texas intersection. Temple police say officers were called to Northwest H.K. Dodgen Loop and Industrial Boulevard around 1:29 p.m. on Sept. 25, 2026, after an eastbound box truck and a northbound vehicle struck each other. A Bell County Justice of the Peace pronounced one person dead at the scene, while the driver of the box truck was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The intersection was blocked off for several hours as crews worked the scene and investigators began piecing together how the crash happened.
According to KWTX, the crash remains under investigation by the Temple Police Department’s Traffic Reconstruction Unit, and the identity of the person killed had not been released as of Friday evening. KXXV, a Waco-area news station, similarly reported that both vehicles were traveling in perpendicular directions when they collided and that the case remains an open investigation. Temple police have not said whether either driver will face citations. Anyone with information about the crash has been asked to contact the Temple Police Department.
