A father and son were killed Sunday morning in a head-on crash on FM 2220 south of 6 Mile Line, north of McAllen, Texas. Authorities say a white Toyota Scion crossed into oncoming traffic and struck a black Cadillac Escalade around 11:38 a.m. The Toyota’s driver died at the scene, and his passenger died later at a hospital. Two occupants of the Cadillac were taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
According to KRGV, the victims were identified as 31-year-old Fabian Diego Guerrero, who was driving the Toyota, and his father, 64-year-old Fabian Guerrero, a McAllen immigration attorney. The Texas Department of Public Safety says the Toyota veered into the northbound lane for reasons that remain unknown before colliding with the Cadillac. Fabian’s widow, Anissa Olivia Guerrero, told KRGV her husband was known for putting clients at ease. DPS troopers say the investigation into the crash is still active.
