An 18-year-old from Alamo, Texas was killed early Saturday morning when the pickup truck he was riding in rolled over multiple times on FM 70 near Bishop. Kevin Aguilar was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities. Two other occupants of the truck, ages 19 and 18, were treated for injuries and released. The crash remains under investigation by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
According to KRIS 6 News Corpus Christi, DPS troopers say Aguilar was leaning out of the passenger-side window of the southbound Ford F-150 when he reportedly grabbed the steering wheel, causing the driver to overcorrect. The truck then skidded off the roadway and rolled several times before coming to a stop near County Road 14, KRIS 6 News reported. Aguilar was ejected during the rollover and died at the scene. DPS has not released the names of the surviving driver and passenger, both from Donna, Texas, who were treated and released.
