Two semi-trucks collided head-on in the early hours of Friday, October 23, 2026, on State Highway 302 in Reeves County, Texas. Both drivers were ejected from their trucks and died at the scene. Investigators say neither driver appeared to be wearing a seat belt. The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating.
According to CBS7 (KOSA First Alert 7), Texas DPS says the westbound truck crossed the center line in a marked no-passing zone and hit the eastbound truck. NewsWest 9 (KWES) reports the crash happened around 2 a.m. and involved two Freightliner trucks, each pulling a trailer. Both outlets say the investigation remains ongoing. Crashes involving commercial trucks can raise questions about driver conduct, fatigue and company practices, and those details have not been confirmed.
