What the Law Says

Washington law requires drivers to keep to the right half of the roadway on two-way roads, with limited exceptions. Allegedly crossing into oncoming traffic can be evidence that a driver failed to follow this rule of the road.

Washington follows a pure comparative fault system, so responsibility for a crash can be divided among the people involved. Injured people, such as bus occupants, may be able to seek compensation based on the fault of others. Deadlines apply, so it helps to speak with a lawyer early.
