A pedestrian died Sunday afternoon, October 18, 2026, after being struck by an 18-wheeler on northbound Interstate 35 near Exit 300 in Temple, Texas. Temple police were called to the scene at about 12:20 p.m. Preliminary information indicates the pedestrian was on the highway when the truck hit him, and the truck driver stayed at the scene. A Justice of the Peace pronounced the man dead at the scene.
According to KWTX, police say the crash remains under investigation, no arrests have been made, and no further information is being released for now. The City of Temple’s police release says the department’s Traffic Reconstruction Unit worked the scene and advised drivers to use an alternate route because of delays. Why the pedestrian was on the highway has not been confirmed, and the cause of the crash has not been determined.
