Three people were taken to hospitals after a rollover crash on southbound Interstate 5 near Kalama, in Cowlitz County, Washington, on the evening of October 12, 2026. The Washington State Patrol says a 1997 Jaguar XK8 struck the rear of a 2018 Ford Edge near milepost 32. The Edge rolled and came to rest in the median, while the Jaguar stopped and blocked the northbound ramp. Troopers suspect the Jaguar’s driver was impaired.
KATU reports that the Jaguar’s driver, his passenger and the driver of the other vehicle were all taken to the hospital, and that investigators say speed and impairment were both factors. The driver of the Jaguar has been charged with DUI, according to the reporting. KLOG News adds that the crash happened at about 6:55 p.m. and that both drivers were wearing seatbelts. The Washington State Patrol is handling the investigation, and these details may change as it continues.
